Winter 23 Flow Formula Editor
Let’s dive into the Winter ’23 enhancements for Salesforce Flows, focusing particularly on the new features of the Flow Formula editor. Everyone appreciates updates that simplify processes and save time, right?
Key Improvements in the Flow Formula Editor
A standout improvement in this release is the enhanced formula resource editor, now equipped with an instant syntax check button. This tool was initially introduced for start elements and collection filters in earlier updates. It’s exciting to see this feature extended universally within the Flow builder.
Enhanced Error Checking
Gone are the days of writing a formula, saving the flow, and hoping for no errors. Now, you can verify your formulas directly in the editor using the Syntax Check button, catching errors on the fly.
However, a word of caution based on my experience with a preview Dev Org: I noticed some inconsistencies with the syntax check passing some collection filter formulas I expected to work. Although this is a concern, there’s still time before the official release, and I’m optimistic these issues will be resolved.
Conclusion and Future Outlook
For those using or planning to use Salesforce Flows, these enhancements, particularly the advanced capabilities of the Flow Formula editor, promise to streamline your workflow significantly.
