“Is Salesforce Dead?” at Architect Dreamin

Yeur Architect Dreamin’ took place in Berlin on May 27th and 28th, 2024. I joined the event right after Wir Sind Ohana and delivered an Automated Well-Architected workshop based on a real-life scenario.
Yeur Architect Dreamin
Yeur Architect Dreamin’ is more than just an event; it’s a community-led Architect gathering in Europe. The participants and session leaders, all CTAs and Architects, share a common passion and interest. The sessions, far from being mere presentations, are interactive workshops that foster a sense of camaraderie and shared learning.
At Yeur Architect Dreamin’, I attended many valuable workshops exploring various different aspects of the platform. I have never been in a more knowledgeable and experienced crowd in my life, and I felt very fortunate and humbled to be there.
Well-Architect an Automated Solution
My session included a scenario that aimed to deliver a solution involving a managed package, flows, invocable Apex, and more. Most enterprise architects often get involved in large-scale projects, seeking clean solutions from their conception. At the same time, the reality I see in smaller client organizations is very different. I showed the participants this side of the equation, potentially forcing them into tradeoffs they generally may not have had to do.
Is Salesforce Dead?

Among the discussions, one especially caught my attention: Is Salesforce dead? With the adoption of the AI LLM models and the developments in the marketplace, what would happen to the original CRM concept? Would the dominance of cloud enterprise SaaS vendors continue? And would Salesforce continue to be a fast-growing leader in the marketplace? These are all the valuable questions that were asked in this session. As you can imagine, there was no clear answer, but many thoughts were shared that invoked precious discussions.

I thank Melissa Shepard, Sam Wadhwani, Kevin Jackson, Daniel Stange, Chetan Chugh, Nora Nicklis, Jani Souryavongsa, and all the organizers, volunteers, and participants for this great event.
P.S. Special thanks for the awesome pictures go to Katka Vokrinkova.
