Salesforce Ushers in the Age of the Agentic Enterprise at Dreamforce 2025

Dreamforce 2025 opened this week in San Francisco with a powerful message from Salesforce. The company that pioneered cloud CRM is leading business into the Agentic Enterprise era. This new model uses AI to elevate people rather than replace them. Amid product launches, keynotes, and benefit concerts, one message stood out clearly. Salesforce’s commitment to human potential matches its drive for AI innovation.
From Cloud to Agentic: A New Era for Work
Marc Benioff took the stage alongside co-CEO Lynne Benioff to unveil the company’s next great transformation: Agentforce 360, the world’s first platform connecting humans and AI agents in one trusted system. Building on more than two decades of innovation, Salesforce is positioning Agentforce 360 as the foundation for how enterprises will work in the years ahead.

“We’re entering the age of the Agentic Enterprise, where AI elevates human potential like never before,” Benioff said during the main keynote. “Agentforce 360 connects humans, agents, and data on one trusted platform, helping every employee and every company achieve more than they ever thought possible.”
Agentforce 360 integrates the familiar Salesforce pillars: Customer 360, Data Cloud, and Slack, into a single agentic environment. These agents can autonomously perform complex tasks, surface real-time insights, and collaborate directly with people across Slack and other workspaces. The result is a constantly learning, reasoning network that keeps work flowing even when teams are offline.
Thousands of customers have already seen measurable results. Reddit deflected nearly half its support cases. Adecco automated more than half of candidate conversations after hours. OpenTable handled 70 percent of diner inquiries through Agentforce agents. Across industries, Salesforce’s customers are proving that AI can make work more human, not less. Agentforce Expands Across Every Function
Salesforce also rolled out Agentforce IT Service, transforming traditional help desks into 24/7 conversational service hubs that resolve issues directly in Slack or Microsoft Teams. UNESCO, Piedmont Healthcare, and EPB Chattanooga are already using the new system to cut downtime and free IT teams for higher-value projects.
Agentforce’s reach now extends to Security Center and Privacy Center, where new AI agents proactively detect cyber threats and automate compliance with regulations like GDPR and CCPA. By shifting from manual monitoring to agent-assisted defense, customers such as CMC Energy and Cervello report faster investigations and improved confidence in data governance. Read more HERE.
To accelerate its agentic automation vision even further, Salesforce also announced the acquisition of Apromore, a leading process intelligence company. Apromore’s technology will bring end-to-end process visibility and simulation capabilities into the Salesforce platform, helping businesses map, optimize, and automate workflows with AI-driven precision.
Slack Takes Center Stage as the Agentic OS
According to Vernon Keenan, a major theme emerging from Dreamforce 2025 is Salesforce’s confirmation that Slack has officially become the front door to the Agentic Enterprise. With the launch of Agentforce 360, Salesforce is reimagining how people and intelligent agents work together.
For years, the industry has anticipated Slack evolving from a chat app into a true enterprise platform. That vision has finally materialized. Slack now serves as the “Agentic OS,” the conversational layer where humans, agents, data, and apps converge. Through new integrations, employees can access Agentforce Sales, IT Service, HR Service, and Tableau directly inside Slack, all through natural language. Managing deals, resetting passwords, or requesting HR support now happens in conversation, not in menus.
This shift is powered by several new technologies introduced with Agentforce 360. AgentScript, Salesforce’s new expression language, gives teams low-code control over agent behavior, while Hybrid Reasoning blends deterministic logic with generative flexibility. Together, they make it possible for non-technical users to build and orchestrate complex AI workflows. Slack then becomes the canvas where those agents act, resolving tickets, surfacing insights, and even managing IT incidents end-to-end.
Perhaps most importantly, Slack’s Real-Time Search API and Model Context Protocol (MCP) now open the door to external AI ecosystems. Partners like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Dropbox can build agents that live directly inside Slack. This interoperability blurs traditional platform boundaries and positions Slack as a hub for enterprise-grade AI collaboration.
Analysts describe Salesforce’s approach as a long-awaited correction to the “low-code orchestration gap.” By embedding agents where people already work, Salesforce bypasses the complexity that has slowed AI adoption in large organizations. For smaller businesses not yet locked into Microsoft Teams, this Slack-first model offers a clear on-ramp to automation.
Agentic Commerce Arrives: Salesforce Partners with Stripe and OpenAI
At Dreamforce 2025, Salesforce announced another major step in its Agentic Enterprise vision, a collaboration with Stripe and OpenAI to support the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP). This new standard introduces Instant Checkout within Agentforce Commerce, allowing merchants to harness conversational AI for faster, more intuitive paths to purchase.
The announcement marks a defining moment in the evolution of e-commerce. Salesforce research shows 48% of AI-assisted shoppers are open to letting an AI agent make purchases for them. This marks the rise of agentic commerce, where AI anticipates needs, recommends products, and completes secure transactions instantly.
The Agentic Commerce Protocol, co-developed by Stripe and OpenAI, provides a unified framework that enables retailers to interact with customers through AI agents while maintaining security and compliance. Through this integration, Agentforce Commerce merchants will gain the ability to offer Instant Checkout powered by Stripe’s payment infrastructure, including support for Link.
“Through our collaboration with Stripe and OpenAI on the ACP, we are delivering the unified system designed for the future of agentic commerce, creating a dramatically faster and more personalized path to purchase,” said Nitin Mangtani, GM of Commerce Cloud and Retail at Salesforce. “This fundamental shift empowers our merchants to drive revenue growth and build deeper customer loyalty.”
The benefits extend far beyond speed. Businesses can expect higher conversion rates, greater operational efficiency, and new revenue streams as AI automates product discovery, checkout, and post-purchase tasks.
“Together with OpenAI, we’re enabling businesses to reach millions of new buyers by helping turn discovery into purchase inside ChatGPT,” said Maia Josebachvili, Chief Revenue Officer of AI at Stripe.
Salesforce also introduced Guided Shopping for Agentforce Commerce, enabling retailers to build branded AI shopping agents integrated with Customer 360. This allows customers to chat, browse, purchase, and track orders, all through a single intelligent conversation.
The Platform for the Agentic Future
Every Dreamforce marks a turning point for Salesforce’s technology vision. This year’s message extended beyond new features and partnerships, highlighting collaborations with Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google Cloud.
It redefined what enterprise AI can achieve when built on trust, transparency, and strong data integrity.
Agentforce 360 is the culmination of four major releases, each pushing AI further into real business workflows. With innovations such as Agentforce Voice, Hybrid Reasoning, and Intelligent Context, enterprises can now build conversational agents that understand data, act autonomously, and collaborate securely with humans.
Slack, now positioned as the “Agentic OS for the Enterprise,” connects people, apps, and AI in one conversational workspace. Through the new Slack-native AgentExchange, users can install agents from partners like Anthropic, OpenAI, and Perplexity without leaving Slack. This brings AI directly into the flow of work.
A Vision Rooted in People
As Dreamforce 2025 continues, Salesforce’s vision for the Agentic Enterprise feels both revolutionary and deeply human. Salesforce envisions a future where every employee works with AI, every business runs on trusted data, and communities thrive.
