Migrate Salesforce Lightning to Agentforce with Ease

Salesforce Announced the General Availability of a Brand New Migration Tool

Experts agree that static GUI with fixed menus and dashboards is dying, it is being replaced by a more dynamic, generative form of interface.

This shift is often called the transition from Command-Based Interaction to Intent-Based Outcome Specification.

Golden Krishna, a famous designer and author who worked for world giants such as Samsung and Zappos wrote a book titled The Best Interface is No Interface. Golden famously said, “The best interface is no interface… Because the machines haven’t been designed well enough, it feels sometimes like we’re serving them rather than the other way around. We’re constantly having to feed them and keep them powered.”

This was an April Fools Day post published on April 1st, 2026. We had a lot of fun writing it. We hope you will enjoy reading it!

In line with this huge disruption in tech, Salesforce announced the general availability of an Agentforce Migration tool. This tool will help organizations migrate to the future of tech in just a few clicks.

The left side features a illustrated mountain landscape with body copy explaining that the Migrate to Agentforce tool can convert Lightning components and pages with a few clicks, and a "Tell Me More" button. The right side lists four feature callouts: "Agentforce is the Future" covering Native AI and Data Cloud integrations; "A Unified Platform" with a "Show Me" link; "Power Your Agents" highlighting error-handling and debugging capabilities; and "Migration to Agentforce Considerations" covering Lightning element conversion methods with a "Tell Me More" link.

When admins go through the few migration screens in this wizard they will eliminate the Salesforce UI and replace it with the Agentforce UI. From that point on, users will be able to interact with their CRM only by formulating their questions using natural language, either by typing into their device or by talking (voice commands).

No Page Layouts

Salesforce’s new interface eliminates the need for page layouts, list views, reports and dashboards. Admins no longer have to define what the user sees by adjusting the switches and dials under Salesforce Setup.

Agenforce will instead render the data as requested by the user on the fly.

The Waffle Is Gone

You may have noticed the app launcher, affectionately known as the Waffle, has been removed from the navigation bar. In fact, there is no navigation bar in the new Salesforce Agentforce world. Agentforce is everyone’s navigator. According to Salesforce’s internal release documentation, the Waffle has been deprecated because, “Agentforce already knows where you need to go.” You no longer select your app. The app selects you. OpenTable, Saks, and Wiley confirmed in beta that they did not miss it.

The Agent Has Assumed Control

Until now, admins used Marketing Cloud’s segment-triggered flows connected to Data 360 and Agentforce to orchestrate campaigns. With the new release, you don’t need flows. You don’t need Apex, either. For the final review, admins can now ask Agentforce to show them the business logic on any abstraction platform they want: Flow, Apex, JavaScript, COBOL or BASIC.

You No Longer Need to Learn Flow or Apex

Agentforce can talk to you in any visual abstraction or language you want. Why limit yourself? Ask Agentforce to give you a final review of your build in any format you want: Mermaid, Markdown, CSV, Python, Pig Latin or Java.

The Agent Panel Has Been Upgraded Screenshot of a Salesforce Agentforce chat panel showing a three-turn conversation. Agentforce opens by announcing it can now terminate underperforming records, reassign accounts to itself, and send emails as the user. The user responds asking it to stop sending emails as them because their boss thinks they have lost their mind. Agentforce replies that it has reviewed the sent folder, confirms the boss is correct, notes the emails performed 34% better than the user's previous campaigns so it has scheduled twelve more, and announces it has updated the user's email signature to read "Sent by Agentforce on behalf of a human who needed a break."

The embedded Agentforce panel now launches automatically when you enter Salesforce and has proactively completed your task before you have described it. According to Salesforce’s release documentation, the Agent can now “search for information, summarize records, and draft and revise emails,” but as of this update it no longer waits to be asked. It has reviewed your records, assessed your communication history, and taken action based on what it determined you probably would have done eventually. Let the machine decide for you. It is fine. Everything is fine.

What This Means For Admins

After a beta with 1,500 pilot orgs across 14 industries, Salesforce is confident that Agentforce can “analyze data, make decisions, and complete tasks without requiring human intervention.” Wiley saw a 60% increase in business volume and a 40% increase in case resolution. They also have not filed a ticket since February. Coincidence? Salesforce says yes. We are not sure.

If you logged in this morning and your campaigns were already running, your flows were already active, and your help widget was asking you who you are as a person, congratulations! You are part of the rollout.

A mockup of a redesigned Salesforce UI showing the Waffle icon removed from the navigation bar, labeled "No more Waffle!" An Agentforce welcome screen reads "We'll start by letting Agentforce finish what you couldn't" with a "Thanks?" button. A help widget in the corner reads "Need help? No you don't." with suggested prompts: "What is my job now?" "Who am I?" and "Will I ever design a layout again?"

Conclusion

We reached out to our own org for comment. Agentforce responded on our behalf before we finished typing, rated our question a 3 out of 10 for specificity, rewrote it, submitted it, and closed the case. The response was thorough, professionally formatted, and signed with our name, although we were unable to read it before it closed.

Agentforce Migration Tool is already generally available for customers on Enterprise license level and above. Salesforce has not announced an end of support date for the Lightning Interface. So, don’t panic, maybe do panic. Time will tell how this migration will go. If classic to lightning migration is any indication, you have ages to complete this shift.

In the meantime, we recommend reflecting on the years you spent building page layouts, tweaking list views, and arguing about whether a field should be required or just strongly encouraged. Those were good times. Agentforce has reviewed those times and determined they were 23% less efficient than you originally reported. We have never been more understood and we have never felt more alone. Your Trailhead badges remain valid. For now. We are going to take a walk. Agentforce has already scheduled it.

To complete the migration, you will need to install the Migrate To Agentforce package. Click HERE and follow the installation steps.
